Feds bust 5 mob suspects, including alleged Bonanno boss Vincent "Vinny TV" Badalamenti


 
Alleged Bonanno capo Nicholas Santora is taken into custody in Deer Park, L.I., Friday.

Federal agents busted the acting boss of the Bonanno crime family and four other gangsters on racketeering charges Friday in the latest blow to the mob, authorities said.
The arrests were made in raids on Staten Island and Long Island that capped a two-year investigation by Drug Enforcement Administration agents and the FBI.
Reputed acting boss Vincent "Vinny TV" Badalamenti was taken into custody at his posh home on Bertram Ave. on Staten Island without incident.
Also arrested were reputed capo Nicholas Santora, soldiers Anthony Calabrese and Vito Balsamo and Gambino associate James LaForte.
A sealed indictment in Brooklyn Federal Court will charge them with a host of extortion charges, including a shakedown over the pizza recipe used at Brooklyn’s famed L & B Spumoni Gardens, along with loansharking and marijuana charges.
Bonanno consigliere Anthony "TG" Graziano was arrested late last year on extortion charges that are part of the case with the assistance of cooperating witnesses flippped by both the DEA and the FBI, including Graziano's son-in-law, Hector Pagan.
