New video won’t do much to help Massachusetts State Trooper John Analetto’s case.
Analetto is facing extortion charges after allegedly going into business with a bookmaker and then threatening to kill him.
The video, released to FOX 25 on Friday, was allegedly taken by a bookie turned FBI informant working with Analetto as part of an alleged betting ring. It features the pair discussing business which is believed to be related to bookmaking.
Prosecutors used the videos in court on Friday as they tried to prove the trooper should remain in jail until his extortion trial.
In the video, the man who is said to be Analetto asks his partner who owes $4,000. He then calls the man and asks him to start doing the right thing, otherwise 2012 won't be a good year for him.
Analetto is being held at the Wyatt Detention Center in Rhode Island while a judge reviews the tapes. That judge will then determine if Analetto should be released on bail. The veteran state trooper faces up to 20 years in jail for allegedly threatening to kill a bookie.
