Fugitive from justice Edwin Spears arrested in Canton
Edwin Spears, 37, Neptune New Jersey, was arrested by St. Lawrence County Sheriff's Deputies in Canton Friday morning.
Spears was charged as a Fugitive From Justice from the state of New Jersey.
According to online reports, Spears was an alleged Bloods gang leader who, in 2007, was accused of working with the Lucchese crime family and a Prison Guard, attempting to smuggle drugs and cell phones to inmates at East Jersey State Prison.
He was arraigned in the Town of Pierrepont Court in front of Judge Camp and is being held without bail pending further proceedings.
