Murder victim's family intends to sue NYC
A man’s family filed suit against the city after discovering he was
murdered by two corrupt cops who were also Mafia hit men, but the city
says it’s come too late.
The family of Israel Greenwald had no idea he was buried under a cement floor for 20 years following his disappearance in 1986.
NYPD cops Stephen Caracappa and Louis Eppolito had abducted and murdered him.
But city attorneys want the suit tossed because “the statute of limitations expired decades ago.”
“It’s ludicrous,” said Michal Greenwald, the murdered man’s daughter.
“As soon as we found out who murdered my father, we filed suit.”
