You lie, you die!
That Mafia rule -- that anyone who lies to the godfather about an ordered murder soon dies -- single-handedly debunks Vincent "Vinny Gorgeous" Basciano's defense in his ongoing murder trial, turncoat mob boss Joseph "Big Joey" Massino sneered on the stand yesterday.
Basciano's defense is that he fibbed when he reported in secretly recorded conversations to Massino that he ordered a 2004 gangland hit on Randy Pizzolo.
But Massino, who was wearing a wire when he discussed the rub-out with Basciano, said his eventual successor wouldn't take that chance.
"You get killed for that," Massino testified.
Meanwhile, Constance Pizzolo said the trial about her father's slaying has turned into a media circus because of Massino's testimony.
"I feel like his death and his murder have taken a back seat," she said.
